Access Consultancy
Providing advice in connection with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and measures to improve the accessibility of premises for those with disabilities. Our services include the preparation of Access Audits, (with regard to existing buildings), undertaking Access Appraisals, (with regard to proposed new buildings), and assistance with the preparation of Access Policies, (to record an organisation’s stance and approach with regard to disabled access generally, and where appropriate with regard to specific areas, or operational difficulties).
Access Statements are also prepared for the purpose of Building Control applications, where the rationale for providing or not providing accessible facilities has to be set out.
We also prepare Access Plans, which form the basis of an organisation’s approach to the ongoing improvement of facilities and therefore its intention to comply with the requirements of the Act. This also includes a consideration of the timescale for the implementation of various works and the attachment of budget cost estimates to the proposals.
